Attempted Suicide
VICTORIA'S (DOTHAN, AL) QUESTION:
Dawson: What’s going on?
Victoria: A little over a month ago, I attempted suicide.
Dawson: That’s fairly lethal, you know? You don’t get second chances on a deal like that.
QUESTION:
Victoria: I learned that the hard way. I have a fiancé. We’ve been dating since last July. We’ve been engaged since March. He cheats on me constantly and I just don’t know what to do anymore.
DAWSON MCALLISTER'S ANSWER:
Dawson: Your boyfriend’s part of your problem, but he’s not the main problem. He’s a serial womanizer. He’s a liar and a manipulator and he doesn’t really love you. He’s using you for the sex and whatever else he’s getting. You’re depressed. You need to get to the reason why you’re depressed. You need to get your self-esteem to rise. Find out what’s bothering you, what happened in your family, what happened in your past. Find that out and begin to work on your self-esteem or every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be after you. They’ll use you and you’ll get depressed over them, and then we know where that leads with you, Victoria.
