Understanding God’s Grace and Freedom for Us
We believe our greatest HOPE comes when we know we are loved, and our future is secure.
This is the story of the Bible. God loves you and has prepared a place in heaven for you. And you can receive the gift of salvation by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
There is great freedom in accepting the gift of salvation because there is nothing you can do to earn your way to heaven. Jesus gives it freely to all who believe in him. The God of the universe humbled himself to death on a cross to pay the price for all our sins. Why would he do this? Because he wants a relationship with you eternally. You are that important!
To understand this beautiful story of salvation in Jesus Christ fully, here are a few key verses from the Bible:
God Saves Us Because He Loves Us
John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
1 Timothy 1:15 - Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus is the Only Way to Be Saved
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Acts 4:11-12 - This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
2 Corinthians 5:21 -Christ never sinned but God put our sin on Him. Then we are made right with God because of what Christ has done for us.
Ephesians 2:1-10 - As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Titus 3:5 - He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 10:22 - Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
God's Plan of Salvation from the Book of Romans:
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 - The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10 - If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:13 - For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Pray These Things from Your Heart
If you want this hope, you can pray right now to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It doesn’t need to be anything scripted. Just pray these things from your heart:
- Admit you are a sinner in need of forgiveness.
- Confess your sins.
- Thank Him for Jesus’ death on the cross that paid the price for those sins.
- Ask Him to be Lord of your life.
If it helps, here is an example of what you could pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I’m sorry for the wrong things I’ve done. Please forgive me. I believe your Son died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead, and because of this I will enter into heaven when I die. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I willingly give you my life. Now, Father, help me do your will. Thank you again for saving me!
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer, your new life in Christ has begun!
