Gretchen Lawson: I have people who come into my office who have a difficult time forgiving themselves. They've been in relationships where maybe they've made bad choices and they have a really hard time dealing with shame and guilt, and a difficult time forgiving themselves. I would encourage you to be gracious with yourself, to talk to someone about how you're feeling. The only way to deal with the guilt and the shame that you're feeling is to talk about it, to talk about why you feel the way you feel, to be gracious with yourself, and to recognize that everyone is flawed. No one is perfect.
